CADAN: I am a co-founder of the Culture and Disaster Action Network (CADAN). We are a growing group of social scientists and practitioners who aim to design disaster risk reduction and disaster recovery solutions with respect to culture. Our network links together disaster professionals working for governments, NGOs, and non-profits with researchers and educators.

Caela O’Connell: Disaster & Food – Center for Urban and Regional Studies (unc.edu) – In this podcast, I discussed why food has become such a topic of focus during the COVID-19 pandemic and why it is essential to consider underlying vulnerabilities when assessing the impacts of the pandemic and planning for recovery. I also provided recommendations for what actions individuals, local and state governments, the private sector and non-governmental organizations can do to keep contribute to current food insecurity needs and envisioning sustainable recovery for North Carolinians.
